This morning the “Pacific Fishers” woke up, did some light fitness, got their packs together, and headed off to Ostrander Lake for their final and most demanding expedition yet.
Nacho Average Intern
Meet Tyler Rackelmann, ARC’s summer intern in Yosemite. Tyler is a psychology major, preparing for his third year at UC Merced and a Yosemite Leadership Program participant. Tyler feels extremely passionate about the outdoors and says he looks forward to watching others grow in such a meaningful setting.
Final Expedition
We are going to embark in the beginning of our final expedition tomorrow! The chaos to prepare for the journey is REAL. But everyone is excited to leave basecamp back to our second home in the back country.
Ten Lakes
This is ARC hiking up from one of the Ten Lakes and went up 24 switchbacks up the face of a mountain and found ourselves looking at this beautiful view with one of the ten lakes in the background.
3rd Expedition and Tenaya Lake
“Come into the mountains, dear friend. Leave society and take no one with you but your true self. Get close to nature. Your everyday games will be insignificant. Notice the clouds spontaneously forming patterns and try to do that with your life”.
Kayaking Through the Bay
Imagine Kayaking 5 miles to a small island in the middle of Emerald Bay. kayaking was a completely new experience for me because I hadn’t tried it before and because I needed to be synchronized with my partner. The scenery was amazing, Emerald Bay had deep blue colored water surrounded by tall green pine tress.
