Meet Tyler Rackelmann, ARC’s summer intern in Yosemite. Tyler is a psychology major, preparing for his third year at UC Merced and a Yosemite Leadership Program participant. Tyler feels extremely passionate about the outdoors and says he looks forward to watching others grow in such a meaningful setting. “I hope to create a comfortable, open and safe environment where everyone can feel free to share thoughts and feelings. Also, I am looking forward to being a mentor and a resource that the students can count on for support during and after the course. Teenagers have the tendency to be influenced, and I hope to make a lasting impression that guides them in a positive direction.” We’re lucky to have this dynamic individual as our Yosemite intern this summer and hope that he too is impacted by the power of ARC. P.S. — If you’re wondering about “Nacho” in the title of this post, it’s a nickname Tyler picked up while volunteering in the Dominican Republic.
