Kayaking Through the Bay

Imagine Kayaking 5 miles to a small island in the middle of Emerald Bay. kayaking was a completely new experience for me because I hadn’t tried it before and because I needed to be synchronized with my partner. The scenery was amazing, Emerald Bay had deep blue colored water surrounded by tall green pine tress.

Meet Sean McAlindin, one of the talented and dedicated staff in Yosemite. Originally from Scotch Plains, New Jersey, Sean grew up in Northwestern Connecticut at the bottom of Ratlum Mountain, a rustic old Berkshire Peak that inspired a life-long love affair with all things wild.

This morning we went to the Mariposa Grove and Home of the Giant Sequoias. July 4th BBQ at Wawona School Brings New Friends Together

Yesterday Cody Cook and Francisco del Rio manned the grill, Kiauna made a summer salad with strawberries and apple slices, and our friends from the Yosemite Leadership Program brought good cheer and smiling faces.  We played soccer, basketball, ping pong, and walked along a slack line.  It was a great Independence Day!  Thank you to YLP, Becca Fenwick, and other Wawona community members for joining us!
